What gets checked
The report reports observable technical differences between the two sites — it does not, and cannot, promise that a migration preserved rankings, traffic, conversions, or search visibility.
- Redirects
- Permanent vs. temporary redirects, chains, loops, and redirects to unrelated domains.
- Homepage catch-all
- Many unrelated old URLs all redirecting to the new homepage instead of an equivalent page.
- Sitemap coverage
- Old URLs missing from the new sitemap, and new URLs not represented in the old one.
- Indexability
- Robots.txt access, X-Robots-Tag, meta robots tags, and canonical URLs on the new site.
- Metadata and content
- Title, description, heading, and content changes between old and new pages, where both are available.
- Old-host links
- Internal links on the new site that still point back to the old host.
Privacy and crawl etiquette
Reports are private by default and only visible to whoever ran the check; sharing a report is an explicit, opt-in action. Running a check makes a limited number of public web requests to both submitted websites — at most 50 old URLs and 50 corresponding new pages — from an identifiable scanner that respects robots.txt, similar to how a search engine crawler would behave.
